"Giving Thanks in Hard Times"
1 Thessalonians 3

This coming Sunday,  November 23rd, we will be continuing our study of 1st Thessalonians called "Heavy Duty--Developing Character Depth." This coming Lord’s Day, we will be looking at the upcoming Thanksgiving holidays and I will preach a sermon called “Thanking God in Tough Times.”  Many of us have had a wonderful year, but not everyone has had great times.  Paul shows us how to stand strong and persevere. The truth about hard times is that it's inevitable. Persecution, oppression, problems, rejections, disappointments, discouragements, setbacks ... they're all on the menu for each one of us. And the truth about hard times is that it's temporary. You can overcome most of life's challenges simply by choosing to outlast them and persevere. A steadfast spirit and a thankful heart — that's what we need.   I hope you will be in worship this coming Lord’s Day.

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart,
and do not rely on your own insight.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
